Conference about 2015 Criminal Code and Resolution No.109/2015/QH13 popularizationOn April 20th, the Ministry of Justice organized the Conference about 2015 Criminal Code and Resolution No.109/2015/QH13 popularization for the implementation of officials and staffs of Ministry of Justice.At the Conference, Director of Department of legal popularize and education Do Xuan Lan stated that having a deep understanding about the content and spirit of the Code not only helps every citizens raise their awareness about obeying and complying the criminal law but also direct them to join the fight against criminal. And for the staffs of MOJ, an understanding of the Code is also a postive way to apply the law into the daily work of their units.
According to Deputy Director of Department of administrative criminal law Tran Van Dung, the ground-breaking content of the 2015 Criminal Code is for the first time in history, our criminal law has added criminal responsibility of corporation. However, since this is a new and complicated matter, the Criminal Code only affects commercial corporation with 31 out of 314 crimes including 22 crimes about violation of economic management order and 9 crimes about the environment.
In addition, Mr. Tran Van Dung also said that the 2015 Criminal Code continue to reduce executing dead penalty and dedicate a chapter about removing criminal responsibility. The Code also had a strong adjustment in criminal policy against teenagers commiting crimes, especial from the age of 14 to 16. Moreover, the Code had a lot of regulations showing the humanity of the criminal policy, at the same time helping criminals to rejoining the community such as amending the criminal record clearing system, the early parole system…
