Minister Ha Hung Cuong held a solemn reception with Ms. Pratibha Mehta, U.N Resident Coordinator in Vietnam
Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong on January 05, 2012 received Ms. Pratibha Mehta, the new United Nations Resident Coordinator in Viet Nam.
Present at the meeting were Mr. Bakhodir Burkhanov, UNDP deputy country director; Mr. Rajen Kumar Sharma, head of UNICEF Vietnam; Mrs. Zhuldyz Akisheva, UNODC Country Director  as well as representatives from Department of International Cooperation, Department of International Law, Department of Criminal and Administrative Legislation, Department of Judicial Administration, Department of General Affairs on Legislative Development and Office of the Justice Ministry.
Ms. Pratibha Mehta informed Minister Ha Hung Cuong about the situation of building the common cooperation plan with the United Nations  for the period 2012-2016 and the core contents that the UN will focus on supporting Vietnam during this tenure. She also highly appreciated the role of Ministry of Justice in the new stage of cooperation with the United Nations and in organising the annual legal partnership forum.
Minister Ha Hung Cuong congratulated Ms Pratibha Mehta on the new position and gave thanks to the U.N for their support to the legal and judicial reforms in Vietnam. He also expressed the hope that the U.N would continue supporting Ministry of Justice to join U.N conventions in the legal and judicial fields.On this occasion, he wished Ms. Mehta to have a successful working term in Vietnam and help to bring relations between Ministry of Justice and the United Nations to a higher level./.-ITD
