Vietnam and France boost the legal and judicial cooperation

The 18th session of the Orientation Committee of the Viet Nam - France Legal Home was held on two days ( 14-15 April) in Paris, France. At the meeting, two sides signed  a number of significant documents relating to Vietnam-France Legal Home’s activities over the next ten years.
Mr Michel Mercier, French Minister of Justice, and his Vietnamese counterpart Ha Hung Cuong co-chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were representatives from Vietnamese and French functional agencies.

In 2011, the Viet Nam - France Legal Home will launch a series of programmes on exchanging information and experience in law making, providing legal and judiciary training, teaching the French language for legal activities and boosting regional cooperation under the auspices of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

Vietnam-France Legal home was established 18 years ago and has become a forum for sharing experiences, providing training and information between two countries in the legal and judicial fields.

During his working visit in France, Minister Ha Hung Cuong also had talks and meetings with French Justice Minister and representatives of French Ministries and Sectors. He highly appreciated French support to judicial cooperation with Vietnam.

At the meetings with French authorities, the Vietnamese side underlined the need to focus on priority areas in the 10-year strategy, particularly training human resources for the legal sector./.-ITD
