Strengthening the notary cooperation between Vietnam and France
Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong and Mr Jean-Paul Decorps, honorary President of the high Council of the French notaries cum President of the International Union of Notaries, on April 7 witnessed the signing ceremony of 2011 Cooperation Program between Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and the high Council of the French notaries.
Under the term of the Cooperation Program, two professional fostering courses will be held in 2011 in Hanoi and Hochiminh City for Vietnamese notaries.

The high Council of the French notaries will support Ministry of Justice to establish the notary associations in some provinces and cities. They also support Vietnamese side to compile documents relating to notary activities and draft legal documents directly or indirectly relating to notary field. Two sides may consider implementing the activity of observing, updating and providing legal news.

Minister Ha Hung Cuong highly appreciated the 2011 Cooperation Program between Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and the high Council of the French notaries. He proposed the high Council of the French notaries to help Vietnam overcome its difficulties such as accessing and sharing notary information to foster experiences for Vietnamese notaries.

Earlier, at the reception, Minister Ha Hung Cuong affirmed that thanks to the issuance of Notaries Law in 2006 the notary activities in Vietnam have gained rapid development over the past three years (with the operation of 390 notary organizations and 700 notaries). He promised to boost Vietnam’s participation in the International Union of Notaries. Mr Jean-Paul Decorps praised the development of Vietnamese notary and expressed his hope that Vietnam would soon become member of the International Union of Notaries in his presidential term (before 31/ 12/ 2016)./-ITD.
