Ms Däubler-Gmelin, former German Justice Minister, and Standing Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien on April 14 co-chaired the seminar on the court system in a rule of law State.
Standing Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien said that it was an activity under the cooperation program between Vietnamese and German Ministries of Justice. He expressed his hope that the participants would draw experiences in building the rule of law State and the market economy with socialist orientation in Vietnam through the contribution of Ms Däubler-Gmelin.
At the seminar, Ms Däubler-Gmelin presented two main matters: the court structure in Germany and methods ensuring the independence of judges and courts. She and participants then exchanged their views on various matters such as: elements affecting the independence of judges in Vietnam, ensuring the independence but avoiding the abuse of power by the courts…/.-ITD
