Viet Nam to upgrade national legal database

22/06/2015
HA NOI (VNS) — Legal documents passed by the Government, ministries, ministerial agencies, and central bodies will be posted on national legal normative documents database at vbpl.vn.

The move aims to provide offices, organisations, and individuals with updated and exact legal information related to the State's management, dissemination of laws, legal enforcement, and compliance as well as legal studies.

This is part of a new Governmental decree, No 52/2015/ND-CP, on developing, operating, and using national legal database.

The decree regulates that central bodies such as Supreme People's Court, Supreme People's Procuracy, and State Audit and the offices mentioned above, as well as municipal People's Committees of centrally-run cities such as Ha Noi, HCM City, and Da Nang should send both hard and soft copies of legal documents within two days after they are approved for updating the database.

Documents will be uploaded within 15 working days since database operators receive their copies.

Urgent documents, including those related to preventing and fighting natural disasters and diseases, will be sent to database operators as soon as they take effect and will be posted within two days.

Ministers, agency heads, and chairpersons of municipal People' Committees are responsible for updating legal documents compiled by their offices.
