Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong congratulated Vietnam Law Newspaper on the occasion of the 90th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day
On 19 June 2015, the Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and leaders of some units attached to the Ministry visited and congratulated Vietnam Law Newspaper on the occasion of the 90th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (21 June 1925 - 21 June 2015).

Reporting to the Minister on the development of Vietnam Law Newspaper, Editor-in-Chief Dao Van Hoi emphasized that from the time the Minister approved the Scheme of innovation of the Newspaper, the Newspaper has gradually developed and met requirements and tasks assigned by the Ministry and the Justice sector. Accordingly, along with the strong innovation in content and form of articles, the Newspaper has usually taken care of lives of its journalists, officials, public employees, and the development of business sector of the Newspaper. "It is thanks to the direction of the Civil Affairs Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Justice, especially the Minister, the coordination of the units of the Ministry, the efforts of officials, journalists, editorial staff, and the support of agencies, branches at all levels and readers that the Newspaper has reached significant results", said Mr. Dao Van Hoi. In addition, fundamental norms of the Scheme approved by the Minister have successfully reached by the Newspaper, according to the Editor-in-Chief.

On behalf of the Civil Affairs Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Justice, the Minister Ha Hung Cuong congratulated the success of the Vietnam Law Newspaper after 30 years of development. The Minister urged Party's foundation and the Newspaper's leaders to continue to promote achieved results, and overcome shortcomings and limitations of the Newspaper in order to well play the role of the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Justice. The Minister also emphasized that in the years to come, besides opportunities, the Newspaper may be faced with many challenges. Thus, the Vietnam Law Newspaper must remain its solidarity, dynamic and creativeness; and stick to the significant issues of the country such as the building of a socialist rule of law state and economic integration. The Minister also asked the Newspaper to have preliminary and final reports after the implementation of the Scheme to find out important results and evaluate limitations and shortcomings, making the basis for setting orientations and solutions to develop in the coming years.

The Editor-in-Chief Dao Van Hoi affirmed that the Newspaper will continue exerting efforts in the role of the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Justice, serving as a strategic and trustworthy media agency, thus contributing to the building and development of the Ministry and the Justice sector. He also promised that officials, journalists and employees of the Newspaper will continue to unite and put more effort to develop the Vietnam Law Newspaper. He wished to continue to receive the direction and guidance of the Civil Affairs Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Justice in the path of the development of the Newspaper.

On June 21 1925, Thanh Nien Newspaper (Youth) which was established by Nguyen Ai Quoc published the first edition. That day is now recognized as Viet Nam Revolutionary Press Day. Over the two national resistance wars, Vietnamese press advocated patriotism and national determination for independence. Over the years, Vietnamese press has grown and recorded significant progress. Today almost all aspects in social life have been covered by the press. More than ever, Vietnamese press has been developing and contributing to the nation’s political, economic and social life. The press has been given most favorable conditions to fulfill their role as a forum for social organizations and people, an important instrument in protecting social interests and freedom rights of the people as well as in monitoring and supervising the implementation of state laws and policies. Freedom of press and freedom of speech is inscribed in the Constitution, Press Law and other laws of Viet Nam. There are 16.000 accredited journalists and thousands of non-accredited ones. Viet Nam Journalists’ Association is a member of Organization of International Journalists and Confederation of ASEAN Journalists.
