The Ministry of Justice held a press conference to inform about activities of the Justice sector in the first quarter of 2015
On 17 April 2015, the Ministry of Justice held a press conference to inform about activities of the Justice sector in the first quarter of 2015 with the participation of representatives of press agencies and Departments of the MOJ. Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Chief Executive of the MOJ’s Office, Spokesman of the MOJ chaired the press conference.

In the first quarter of 2015, the Ministry of Justice implemented comprehensively key activities in all aspects, closely following the direction of by the Government, the Prime Minister.

Activities of legal normative document development and post-review of legal normative documents have been improved

In terms of legal normative document development, according to the MOJ's Spokesman, from the beginning of 2015, the MOJ has paid much more attention to this operation. Therefore, the MOJ submitted 5 out of 5 draft legal normative documents assigned, reaching the rate of 100%. As for 95 legal normative documents arrears, the Government, the Prime Minister, ministries and ministerial-level agencies have issued 22 ones with the rate of 23.16%, which is higher than that of the first quarter of 2014.

When it comes to post-review of legal normative documents, the MOJ examined 864 documents, including 165 documents of ministries and ministerial-level agencies, and 699 ones of localities. Through the post-review, 62 documents which violated Article 3 of Decree No. 40/2010/ND-CP dated 12 April 2010 on the examination and handling of legal documents were detected. For the post-review of documents and legal regulations on business conditions, the MOJ examined 249 documents of 16 ministries, 276 documents of 51 localities. As a result, 9 documents of ministries and 20 documents of localities containing provisions not appropriate with the law were found.

Implementing well the 2014 Law on Citizen Reception

Regarding the reception of citizens, in the first quarter of 2015, the MOJ received 116 citizens coming to the Ministry to submit complaints and denunciations. In which, 82 complaints and denunciations were under the state management fields of the MOJ. Most of them related to the field of civil judgment enforcement.

Implementing the  of the Law on Citizen Reception, on 3 April 2015, leader of the MOJ received citizens from a number of localities related to the field of civil judgment enforcement. Through the reception of citizens, leader of the MOJ promptly directed related departments to settle complaints and denunciations according to the law, especially for complaints and denunciations lasting for a long time.

Other fields of state management also had positive changes

In the field of administrative procedure management, in the first quarter of 2015, the MOJ commented on 22 draft legal normative documents, asking for amendment, supplement or repeal of 143 out of 188 administrative procedures specified in such drafts.

In the fields of adoption and state compensation, in the first quarter of 2015, the MOJ took over and resolved 121 files of adoption; received and resolved 16 cases of individuals, organizations and businesses asking for guidance and support relating to state compensation. By the end of March, the MOJ issued 14 documents to support such cases.

At the press conference, reporters asked many questions related to the field of civil judgment enforcement, civil status, state compensation, legal normative document developments, post-review of legal documents, property auction, specialized inspection and some contents of the draft Penal Code (amended). Leaders of relevant departments of the MOJ directly answered to those questions in a satisfactory manner, thereby helping reporters with more comprehensive and accurate look about the activities of the MOJ./.
