Central Steering Committee on Judicial Reforms meets

State President Truong Tan Sang chaired the 13th session of the Central Steering Committee on Judicial Reforms (CJR) in Hanoi on December 18.

The session heard a report on an eight-year implementation of Party resolution on judicial reforms to 2020 after collecting ideas from leaders of provinces, cities, the CJR, Departments of Justice, People’s Courts and Procuracies at the provincial level.

The ideas recognised the serious, democratic and responsible implementation at all levels, improvements in the awareness and actions of most Party members, people from all walks of life in boosting judicial reforms. Shortcomings in the implementation were also stated to devise measures to improve judicial work’s efficiency in the future.

Initial outcomes has affirmed the resolution’s correctness, reflecting objective requirements in building a strict, transparent, strong, democratic and modern judiciary system to serve the people and socialist nation in accordance with the country’s situation and international advancements.

The outcomes have contributed to promoting socio-economic development and international integration, protecting the nation, empowering the law-governed socialist state, as well as improving judicial officers’ awareness and the judicial system’s quality and efficiency.

Addressing the session, President Sang valued the delegates’ ideas and efforts of all the relevant agencies in implementing the resolution, saying that the ideas would be collected and included in a report, which would be submitted to the Politburo for comments. (Source: Nhandan online)
