Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien received UN Women, UNODC Representative
On September 20, Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien had a meeting with UN Women, UNODC Representative to discuss issues of mutual interest.

At the meeting, Ms. Shoko Ishikawa - Chief Representative of the UN agency on gender equality and empowerment of women (UN Women) in Vietnam, leader of the joint program of the United Nations reiterated suggestions Vietnam Ministry of Justice to participate in research activities and control of the prosecution of sexual violence in Asia to promote CEDAW implementation and enforcement of policies and laws countries in the area of gender equality, including Vietnam. She stressed that UN believed in Vietnam Ministry of Justice would highly capable and suitable for this research activity.

Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien appreciated the support that UN Women and UNODC shared with the Government and people of Vietnam through practical cooperation and effective in recent years, and expressed support for plan to implement "multi-national research on the control and prosecution of sexual violence in Asia" in order to raise public awareness and increase political commitment and resources to prevent and end forms violence against women and girls. Deputy Minister affirmed that principle, the Ministry of Justice in cooperation with the relevant agencies of Vietnam should support to participate in research activities.
