On 27 December 2010, Ministry of Justice organized the workshop on development of provincial justice index (PJI). Attending the workshop were representatives from Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, The Supreme People's Court, VNCI, VCCI, departments under Ministry of Justice and 12 local departments of justice. The workshop is held on two days (27-28 December 2010).
With the support of UNDP in building and implementing the Project “Strengthening access to justice and protection of rights in Vietnam”, Ministry of Justice plans to build the provincial justice index in order to measure the performance of the local departments of justice. The index will help the local departments of justice evaluate their performances, which then enhances their capacity, improves their activities and boosts their roles in building and implementing laws.
At the workshop, attendees are introduced about the provincial competitiveness index (PCI), public administration performance index (PAPI) as well as the objectives, scope and subjects of the PJI.
The building of PJI plays an important role in improving the performance of the local departments of justice, acknowledging the roles of these agencies in social management, boosting the socio-economic developments and maintaining the social and political stability.
The subjects that will be asked to collect the data required for performance measures are: citizen, staff of local departments of justice and other relating agencies and organizations./.-ITD
