Co-operation in Respect of Inter country Adoption between Vietnam and Ireland
On September 23, at the Central Adoption Authority of Ireland’ headquarter, Vietnamese Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Frances Fitzgerald witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding on the administrative procedures applied in handling adoption cases between Vietnam and Ireland within the framework of the Hague Convention on protection of children and co-operation in the field of international adoption. This is the first document that the central agency for international adoption of Vietnam has signed with Central Authority for International Child Adoption of the nation receiving the child, which is also a member of the Hague Convention on the protection of children and co-international cooperation in the field of adoption, since the Hague Convention came into force in Vietnam on February 01, 2012.

Ireland is the first country to fully cooperate with Vietnam in the framework of the Hague Convention. Currently, Justice Ministry of Vietnam has received the requests of many countries that are member of the Hague Convention. Vietnam is considering a comprehensive roadmap to expand on child adoption cooperation with other member countries of the Hague Convention. Therefore, the document signed by two central adoption agencies of Vietnam and Ireland will open a new chapter in the field of international cooperation on adoption The stage of multilateral cooperation on protection of children and cooperation in the field of international adoption.

Earlier, the event that Minister Ha Hung Cuong visited Vietnamese children adopted by Irish families attracted the interest from Irish media,  on the afternoon of September 22, the national TV channel of Ireland RTÉ has released the report on the delegation's visit and interview the Minister of the situation and the adoption prospects of cooperation between the two countries.
