Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien received  Ms Victoria Sutherland, Counsellor of Canadian Embassy to Vietnam
On September 13, Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien hosted a reception to Ms Victoria Sutherland, Counsellor of Canadian Embassy to Vietnam.

The Deputy Minister welcomed Ms Victoria Sutherland to Ministry of Justice on her occasion of taking the new post as Counsellor of Canadian Embassy to Vietnam. The judicial coordinative activities between Vietnam and Canada has been raising fast recently. Canada is among the first countries that have supported Vietnam in its legal and judicial reform.

He noted that Vietnam is now amending the Constitution, one of the results of the judicial reform process. Ministry of Justice performs the functions to assist the Government in law making (directly building significant laws such as Civil Code, Criminal Code,…) and examination of the international Agreements that Vietnam has signed. In the coming time, the Ministry will also focus on legal implementation.

Deputy Minister Lien hoped that Ms Victoria Sutherland would have contribution to the fine relation between two countries as well as in legal and judicial cooperation.

Thanked Dr. Lien for his warm welcome and sharing information about the Ministry’s activities, Ms Victoria Sutherland expressed her hope that the relations between Vietnam and Canada would enjoy stable growth.
