Justice Sector helps boost the cooperation between Vietnam and Russian FederationOn October 31, Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong held talk with Russian counterpart Alexander Konovalov, who accompanied Russian President Dmitri Medvedev to attend the 2nd ASEAN-Russia Summit in Hanoi. This is the first Russian Justice Minister’s visit to Vietnam.At the meeting, Minister Ha Hung Cuong revised the significant contributions of former Soviet Union and Russian Federation to Vietnam’s development. He affirmed that Russia’s experiences in development were really useful to Vietnam, especially in the stage 2010-2015 with lots of comprehensively judicial renovation plans serving the country’s economic development.For his part, Russian Justice Minister congratulated on Vietnam’s achievements in the renovation process and emphasized that judicial reforms with new thinking were really necessary to Vietnam. He also noted that Russia was willing to help and share its experiences in this field. On this occasion, he invited Minister Ha Hung Cuong to visit Russia.Earlier, two Ministers had signed the Agreement on Legal and Judicial Cooperation between two Ministries (replacing the Agreement signed on 1998). The new Agreement focused on: exchanging experiences between two countries in the fields of law building, improving the information technology and related matters between judicial agencies, supporting the development of legal aid system and legal service....
