The 61th Meeting of ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Investment (CCI) in Brunei Darussalam from July 01 to 05

In the framework of ASEAN Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM) 3/44 and related meetings held in Brunei from July 01 to 08, the civil servants delegation of Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade involved CCI 61st session from July 01 to 05 led by the Ministry of Planning and Investment as team leader.

The meeting took place with many discussions concerning the draft protocol amending the ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement (ACIA), discuss country reports investment situation of some countries (Peer Country Report), notifications and note amended and supplemented (notification and Supplementary note), reserved list of some member states (the reservation list) ... At the same time, the member states also discussed and agreed completed on time and submitted to the ASEAN Secretariat, the documents mentioned above that the member states have not yet implemented.

At the meeting, the ASEAN Secretariat has an overview presentation on the 2013 ASEAN Investment Report  provides the overall picture of the trend of foreign investment (FDI) in the global scope of general and ASEAN countries particular. At the same time, 2013 ASEAN Investment Report also gives the weaknesses of the investment environment of the ASEAN countries and the course of action to facilitate and promote investment in the region's future.

After 5 days of the heated discussions, Coordinating Committee on Investment Meeting has ended successfully on July 05, 2013. The meeting concluded that the issues relating to the Draft Protocol amending ACIA and a number of issues related to national reports, reserve lists, messages and notes amended and supplemented as time passed, the program scheduled meeting after the 61st CCI meeting.
