Workshop on the Hague apostille convention and the Hague service convention
To perform the tasks of building the project of researching for the possibility of Vietnam in joining 02 Hague Conventions assigned by Prime Minister to the Ministry of Justice on official letter No. 46/VPCP-PL dated January 04, 2012, Department of International Cooperation under Ministry of Justice in collaboration with the project "Support to strategic dialogue in Vietnam" held a Workshop on the Hague apostille convention and the Hague service convention in civil and commercial fields in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh Province.
Mr. Nguyen Khanh Ngoc, Director of International Cooperation Department under Ministry of Justice, chaired the workshop. Attending the seminar, on Vietnamese side, were experts from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Supreme People's Court, universities, research institutes and other related ministries and agencies. On the Project’s side were Mr. Stefan Urban, Project Manager and, especially, the presence of Prof. Dr. Marianne Roth, researcher and lecturer of International Law, University of Salzburg, Austria.

After presentations of Prof. Dr. Marianne Roth and a legal expert from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the workshop participants had exchanged views to further clarify the content of the Conventions, benefits and challenges when Vietnam joins these Conventions as well as international experience of the member nation participating in the Conventions.
On February14, the workshop continued studying the Hague service convention in civil and commercial fields through presentations by Dr. Marianne Roth and an expert from the Supreme People's Court./.-ITD
