On January 16, Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong had a meeting with Mr Christophe Guilhou, Director of Peace, Democracy and Human Rights at the international organisation of the francophonie (IOF) on the occasion of his working visit to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Mr Christophe Guilhou congratulated Vietnam on becoming a new member of the UN Human Rights Council and affirmed that OIF was willing to cooperate with Vietnam in implementing international conventions on human rights. He said that his working visit to Vietnam aimed at deploying the cooperative activities between Vietnam and OIF and finding out the priorities in cooperation between two sides in the coming time.
Thanked for the Director’s sentiments to Vietnam, Minister Ha Hung Cuong informed him about the new points in the new amended Constitution in Vietnam, especially the stipulations relating to human rights as well as the basic rights and obligations of citizens.
