Minister Ha Hung Cuong to visit the Human Rights CommissionOn April 12, Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong paid a visit to the Human Rights Committee of the Australia. He had a courtesy meeting with Ms. Catherine Branson, Chairwoman of Human Rights Commission of Australia and Mr. David Robinson, Director of International Program Unit. At the meeting, Ms. Catherine Branson highly spoke of the cooperation between Australian human rights commission and Vietnam Ministry of Justice. She also expressed her desire to continue the fourth stage of the cooperation program, focusing on assisting Vietnam to complete the legal framework to protect human rights.In response, Minister Ha Hung Cuong gave thanks to the active support that Australian human rights commission had given to Vietnam Ministry of Justice in recent years. He also shared with Ms. Catherine information relating to the 1992 Constitution amendment and supplement, the Criminal Code amendment, the construction of the Law on Conciliation as well as other related matters. Besides, the transfer of the entire execution of imprisonment sentences to the MOJ is an important content in the judicial reform and building the rule of law state in Vietnam so that the Ministry of Justice expects the fourth stage of the cooperation program will have activities related to this issue.
