Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice Republic of Vietnam and Australian Government Attorney-General's Department
On April 10, Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong and Ms. Nicola Roxson - Government‘s Attorney General of Australia has signed a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Australian Government Attorney-General's Department. This is an activity in the framework of official visit to Australia of the Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc from April 8 to 11.

The signing of the memorandum of cooperation is an important step towards establishing the legal basis for promoting cooperation between the two agencies in particular and two countries in general in the areas: legal reform, criminal law including laws on transnational crime, international treaties and international legal issues of mutual interest, legal cooperation including international mutual legal assistance and confiscation of property acquired from criminal activity as well as other contents that are mutually agreed.

The contents of cooperation should be conducted under the forms of exchanging legal documents and publications; cooperation, cooperation on training and retraining, research, technical assistance and knowledge transfer between the law officers of the two sides; exchange of experts; organization of lectures, conferences and seminars; exchanging opinions on legal issues of mutual interest within national and international forums in which both parties are members.
