The signing of the joint Declaration expressed the desire of both Ministries of Justice in successful implementation of the joint Declaration on Cooperation in the legal and judicial fields between the Government of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of Federal Republic of Germany dated February 29, 2008 to further enhance the understanding of the rule of law state, perfect the legal formulation and enforcement and improve the capacity of judicial institutions.
Having speeches at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thuy Hien and Secretary of State Birgit Grundmann expressed their expectations that the cooperation program would achieve successes as in the previous stage. Two parties also pledged to fulfill the cooperative activities so as to support Vietnam toward the legal system development.
