Standing Deputy Minister of Justice Hoang The Lien on August18 had a courtesy meeting with officials of Friedrich - Ebert - Stiftung (FES Institute) led by Mr. Joerg Bergstermann, the FES Institute Chief Representative in Vietnam.
The Deputy Minister congratulated Mr. Bergstermann on successfully fulfilling his working term in Vietnam and thanked him for his goodwill to the Minitry of Justice over the past years. The Deputy Minister also highly spoke of Mr.Bergstermann’s role in promoting cooperation in the field of law and justice between FES Institute and the Ministry of Justice, especially the cooperation between the Institute and the German Law Center under Hanoi Law University. On this occasion, the Deputy Minister wished him good health and success in his new post and expressed the hope that he would continue contributions to fostering the two countries’ relations in general and relations with Ministry of Justice in particular.
Also at the meeting, the Deputy Minister warmly welcomed Mr. Erwin Schweisshelm, the new Chief Representative of the FES Institute in Vietnam, and expected that he would have a good impression of Vietnam and succeed in his work.
Mr. Schweisshelm thanked for the Deputy Minister’s warm welcome and expressed his pleasure to work in Vietnam. Concerning to the cooperation between Ministry of Justice and the FES Institute, he said that both sides need promote the effectiveness of the current cooperation programs and explore new cooperation opportunities./.-ITD
