Vietnam-US relationship in the field of child adoption will be elevated to new heights
Deputy Minister of Justice Dinh Trung Tung on July 5 had a courtesy meeting with Ms. Virginia E. Palmer - Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Vietnam. Two sides discussed legal and judicial issues of common concern.
At the meeting, Ms. Palmer said that the new approach of the Ministry of Justice’s leaders to cooperation in the field of child adoption has created changes in the cooperation between two countries. She also expressed her concern over child adoption issues, especially when Vietnam ratified Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption. She then expressed the hope to assist Vietnam in lawyer training and other fields and said that the cooperation in these areas would make relation between two countries closer, contributing to elevate bilateral relations to strategic partnership level

Deputy Minister Dinh Trung Tung affirmed that the Vietnam - US relationship in the field of child adoption would be stepped up to new heights as Vietnam actually participated in the Hague Convention.

On this occasion, he sent congratulation to Ms. Palmer on successfully fulfilling her working term in Vietnam. He gave thanks to Ms. Palmer for her support to Vietnam and the Ministry of Justice and hoped that she would continue spending good sentiment to Vietnam. /.-ITD
