Enhancing the thriving and effective cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos

On May 12, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long received H.E. Vieng Thoong Siphandon, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Minister Long expressed his honor to welcome H.E. Vieng Thoong Siphandon to visit the Ministry of Justice during her working trip in Viet Nam. He affirmed the special, traditional and close relationship between Viet Nam and Laos which has been nurtured by generations of leaders of the two Parties and States and by people of the two countries.
The Minister briefly reviewed the legal and judicial cooperation of the two countries through activities within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement for the period of 2021 - 2025; training of high-quality human resources for the Lao Ministry of Justice under the ODA project funded by the Vietnamese Government to support the Lao Judicial Academy; legal training programs (bachelor, master, and doctorate) for Lao students at Hanoi Law University, etc.
The Minister expressed his hope and belief that the Chief Justice would actively support the legal and judicial cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to be further strengthened to promote the cooperation between the two Parties and States of Viet Nam and Laos.
Thanking the warm welcome of the Minister of Justice, Chief Justice Vieng Thoong Siphandon wished to continue receiving the support and assistance of the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam for the Ministry of Justice of Laos and for the People's Republic of Laos. She expressed her hope that the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam will continue to promote the implementation of upcoming projects, resolving existing problems and share valuable information to strengthen the legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries.
