Leaders of the National Assembly and the Government received Lao Minister of Justice
On a working visit to Vietnam from 27 to 31 January 2015 of the Lao Ministry of Justice delegation, the National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and the Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted receptions in Hanoi for Lao Justice Minister Bounkeut Sangsomsak.

At the reception on 29 January 2015, the National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong lauded the outcomes of jointly-implemented important activities, referring to the 37th meeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee on economic, cultural, education, and science-technology cooperation, and the signing of bilateral affiliation agreement between the two governments in 2015. She suggested the two sides continue utilizing bilateral and multilateral collaboration outcomes over the past years, especially in the law-making and supervision domains.

Earlier, on 28 January 2015, the Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Lao Minister of Justice Bounkeut Sangsomsak. The Deputy Prime Minister highly valued cooperation between the two Ministries of Justice in terms of law making and enforcement and training as well as accelerated connection between the two sides’ localities. He said high-ranking meetings and delegation exchanges should be viewed as an effective method to deal with legal issues between the two sides' people and organizations. The Deputy Prime Minister expected that in the future, the two ministries will strengthen delegation exchanges and closely work to deal with issues of mutual concerns and contribute to promoting the relationship between the two countries.

At the receptions, Minister Bounkeut Sangsomsak briefed his host of the outcomes of his talks with Vietnamese Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong, adding that the two sides signed a cooperative agreement in the 2016-2020 phase.

The Lao official said he hopes the two sides will enhance partnership and cooperation with Viet Nam in justice, especially in sharing of experience in law-making and enforcement, and personnel training./.
