On March 30, Minister Ha Hung Cuong had a working session with Quang Ninh provincial Party’s Committeee to discuss the pilot project on creating the Van Don special administrative-economic zone and Mong Cai no-tariff border gate.
Under the pilot project, Van Don Special Economic Zone will be an administrative unit directly under the Quang Ninh province and it will be empowered to issue several specific policies to adjust social relations within the zone and Mong Cai no-tariff Economic Zone will be built as a centre for trade, tourism and sea ports to connect Vietnam with Northeast Asian and ASEAN countries.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Pham Minh Chinh, gave thanked to Ministry of Justice for the support in helping Quang Ninh to perfect the Projects.
Agree with the necessity of building the project, Minister Ha Hung Cuong noted that proposals relating to the policies and models of development for the two areas still have points that need to take into careful consideration.
At the meeting, legal experts from Ministry of Justice also gave comments to increase the Projects’ feasibility.
