Draft Decree on promoting professionalization in authenticated translation

Recently, the issue on the translation quality of authenticated documents and the authority of signature were not regulated clearly that required more Government’s management. Therefore, Ministry of Justice chaired to build a Draft Decree on authenticated translation activities. On 6th August, Deputy Minister Le Hong Son worked with Department of Judicial Administration for this draft document.

Deputy Minister Le Hong Son said that the research should be separate standards for translators and translation by collaborators if only for translators standard would confuse professional translator (works profession professional translation) and the amateur service (overtime). Moreover, there is no standard for translating the collaborator would waste resources relatively large capital is employed in state agencies.

Deputy Minister Le Hong Son also said that if It granted the certificate for translators, Establishment of the Council for testing is needed but for the translation of collaborators, should just ask them to grant registration records collaborator cards (similar to many other areas as collaborators legal aid collaborators legal advice ...), not rigid to undergo examination. Meanwhile, Deputy Minister also proposed a simpler scheme is that all those who qualify in accordance with just registration dossier for inclusion in the service list, this list is recognized by the Ministry of Justice legality and published on website of the Ministry of Justice, Department of Justice and is listed on the Department of Justice.
