Within the project " Strengthening Access to Justice and Protection of Rights in Viet Nam " sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ministry of Justice on December 22 held a workshop on assessing the situation of gender equality in the justice sector and developing the tools to integrate gender equality issues in the construction of legal documents.
Present at the workshop were Deputy Minister Le Hong Son, Director of Organization and Personnel Department Tran Van Quang, Senior Officer Duong Thi Thanh Mai, Ms. Socorro Reyes, an expert from Women's Organization of the United Nations and representatives from agencies under Ministry of Justice, local departments of justice and civil judgment enforcement.
The workshop aimed at getting opinions from experts, agencies, organisations and individuals inside and outside the justice sector to perfect the report assessing the situation of gender equality in the justice sector and introducing the tools to integrate gender equality issues in the construction of legal documents.
Addressing at the workshop, Deputy Minister Le Hong Son gave thanks and expressed the hope to receive further attention from UNDP in supporting the Ministry to effectively perform and achieve the goals of promoting gender equality in Vietnam in general and the activities of the ministry in particular./.-ITD
