Promoting exchange and sharing of legal and judicial experience between Vietnam and Cuba
On July 3, Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong received the Chief Judge of the Cuba Supreme People’s Court Ruben Remigio Ferro.

Addressing at the meeting, Minister Ha Hung Cuong was glad to see the recent changes in Cuba, especially the normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States of America. He also informed the Chief Judge of the current situation in Vietnam as well as its legal and judicial reforms.

The Minister said that, on the basis of the 2013 Constitution, Vietnam is reforming its legal system and amending the fundamental codes such as the Penal Code and the Civil Code. The goals of judicial reform that Vietnam outlined in previous years are now starting to be realized.

In Vietnam, the Ministry of Justice is further assigned many more functions, tasks. The Minister stressed that it is time to enhance the exchange of experiences between the two countries’ judicial agencies.

Thanks for the sincere sentiment of Minister Ha Hung Cuong, Chief Judge Ferro confirmed the bilateral traditional relations, especially between the judicial authorities of the two countries and pledged to promote this cooperation. He also expressed concern about the areas in which the Ministry of Justice is assigned to manage such as civil judgement enforcement, administrative enforcement ... and hoped Vietnam will share experiences in these areas.
