US Ambassador Ted Osius: support and aid Vietnam’s fully integrated policy
On May 26, Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong received US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius.

At the reception, Ambassador Ted Osius said that he was impressed by Vietnam’s notable achievements in its recent legal and judicial reform. He affirmed that US pledged to support and assist Vietnam in its fully integrated process to the world to implement Vietnam’s international commitments and synchronize the stipulations of the legal system with the 2013 Constitutions.

He added that US was willing to help Vietnam perfect the Civil and Penal Codes which are now being amended and supplemented. He expressed the hope two sides will actively promote and soon complete and sign the cooperation agreement in the legal implementation and judicial personnel training. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between two countries; therefore, he hoped the areas of bilateral cooperation will contribute to make the relationship between Vietnam - United States fruitful in the coming years.

Addressing at the reception, Minister Ha Hung Cuong shared that Vietnam now continues its legal and judicial reform. The 2013 Constitutions requires to newly issue and amend a number of laws so Vietnam warmly welcomes US’s assistance and cooperation. At present, the USAID Governance for Inclusive Growth Program has effectively technical supports to Vietnam in building and perfecting its legal system.
