Vietnam is willing to cooperate with U.S on the international child adoption
On February 21, Minister Ha Hung Cuong received the U.S. Congressional delegation to discuss matters of mutual concerns.

Addressing at the meeting, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee highly appreciated  Vietnam’s adoption reform to support the Hague Adoption Convention and steps the Government of Vietnam has taken to improve its child welfare system. She added that U.S hoped to reopen the child adoption program between Vietnam and U.S.

As for his part, Minister Ha Hung Cuong thanks for her kind words and emphasized Vietnam has make effort to perfect the legal basis on child adoption. On September 7, 2012, the Prime Minister of Vietnam approved the three-year National Project designed to implement the Hague Adoption Convention.  He also affirmed that Vietnam is willing to cooperate with U.S on the international child adoption.

At the meeting, two sides also exchanged information and discussed measures to promote the cooperation program on child adoption between two countries with the desire to assure the right of children.
