The Ministry of Finance issued Circular No 175/2010/TT-BTC on November 5, amending Circular No 84/2008/TT-BTC of September 2008 on registration for personal income taxes. Accordingly, an income tax registration dossier includes:
(i) a registration form,
(ii) a copy of the valid identity card or passport of the taxpayer, with no notarisation is required.
A tax code will be issued with three days of receipt of a full and valid dossier, if the dossier is lodged with the tax department, or five days if submitted to a branch of of the tax department.
The circular takes effect on December 20.
New procedures for electronic tax filings
The Ministry of Finances issued Circular 180/2010/TT-BTC on November 10 governing electronic tax filings. Under procedures set forth in the new regulation, taxpayers can register, declare and pay taxes electronically, except for import and export taxes. Circular No 180 also provides procedures for the issuance, temporary suspension, and redemption of the Certificate of T-VAN service organisations. The new circular takes effect on January 1.
