Activities of the Minister Ha Hung Cuong at Sydney and Canberra

In the framework of Minister Ha Hung Cuong’s working visit in Canberra and Sydney, Australian Federal, the first two working days took place extremely successful with nearly two dozen meetings and workings with representatives of the Australian Federal Government.

Besides the first goal of this visit in Australia of Minister Ha Hung Cuong that were cooperation, support and perfecting the law enforcement, which is the focus of the Penal Code, criminal proceedings ; internal problems of codification and implementation of international conventions in the field of criminal justice ( prevention of transnational crime, prevent, punish, repress human trafficking, especially women and children, the fight against corruption...), the second major goal is to strengthen cooperation and training have achieved very good result in Sydney. At a meeting with the Law School of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Minister witnessed the MOU signing ceremony between the Judicial Academy of the Justice Ministry of Vietnam and the School of Law, UNSW. Following of Memorandum of Cooperation signed between Hanoi Law University with UNSW in 2011, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Judicial Academy and School of Law – UNSW during of Minister Ha Hung Cuong working visit expressed the ongoing development of cooperation on legal training and judicial positions between the two sides, therefore marked for starting a new page of cooperation, diversity more participants, wider and deeper forms of cooperation.

Finish the first two days, Minister Ha Hung Cuong and MOJ’s delegation also took the time to visit and talk with officials and employees of Vietnam Embassy in Canberra and Consulate General Vietnam in Sydney. Later on April 16, Vietnamese delegation has left Canberra, the capital of Australia to Melbourne city, which is expected to continue operations with a focus on training cooperation creating legal and judicial training between Vietnam Ministry of Justice with legal training facilities as well as a large number of Australian law firms.
