JiJi newspaper had an interview with Justice Minister
On January 09, 2012 Minister Ha Hung Cuong granted an interview to Mr. Shinji Takahashi, branch director of JiJi newspaper, Japan in Hanoi on issues related to cooperation between two countries and the current legal and judicial reform in Vietnam.
The interview helps Japanese better understand the meaning and efficiency of the legal cooperation mechanism between the two countries and two justice sectors.

Assessing the relationship between the two parties, Minister Ha Hung Cuong said that Japan, which was among the foreign partners to have cooperation in the legal and judicial fields with Vietnam, has committed to support Vietnam to build specific laws (the civil Code, the civil procedure Code, the civil Execution Law, the State Compensation Law) and be persistent with Vietnamese partners to reach the objectives.
Mentioning the legal and judicial reforms in Vietnam, the Minister shared that the two issues are inseparable as the legal system without good enforcement and examination apparatus can not achieve good results. With the legal reform, Vietnam has gained a long step since 1986, the current legal system consists of hundreds of laws and code covering nearly all fields of life. The judicial reform is also in the right direction …

Minister Ha Hung Cuong also informed that Vietnam Ministry of Justice would welcome Justice Minister of Japan Hideo Hiraoka in the early of 2012. He expressed the hope that two sides would discuss further opportunities of cooperation on legal and judicial ties./.-ITD
