On October 31, Deputy Minister Dinh Trung Tung had a talk with Ms Susan Jacobs, a US Special Advisor for Children’s Issues, to exchange matters of mutual concern.
At the meeting, Ms Susan Jacobs highly spoke of Vietnam’s achievements in implementing Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption. She emphasized that America appreciated Vietnam’s recent progress in the implementation of child adoption. She also expressed her hope that Vietnam and America will have specific cooperative activities in this field in the coming time.
Thanks for the kind words of Ms Susan Jacobs, Deputy Minister Dinh Trung Tung said that the implementation of the Law on child adoption and Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption in Vietnam had both advantages and difficulties. However, Vietnamese authorities will try their best to ensure the rights of children, especially children with special needs.
