Training on methods and techniques for data collection and analysis for justice sector planning

The training was held on 16 – 17/8/2012 in Nghe An with participations of representatives from numerous central and local judicial agencies.

 

With supports of Project “Strengthening Access to Justice and Development of Rights in Vietnam” supported by UNDP, in 2011, sub-component Office of the Ministry of Justice developed the Research Report on new methods and techniques for data collection and analysis in justice sector planning; piloted developing the 2011 Working Program of Justice Sector; developed training materials on methods and techniques for data collection and analysis for justice sector planning; and successfully held workshops to comment and complete the above reports and training materials. This has thus improved the comprehensiveness and realisticity of the 2012 Working Program of Justice Sector.

In order to effectively implement directions of working renovation under the direction of development of a rule-of-law state of Vietnam and development of the legal system, especially the market economy, the Ministry of Justice continues to focus on strengthening trainings and improvement of personnel capactity in consulting, summary and development of working programs, plans of Justice Sector at grassroots level. It is to ensure consistent application of development planning process in Justice Sector from local to Ministry levels.

Along with the Training materials on methods and techniques for data collection and analysis in justice sector planning and positive results achieved in renovation of methods and techniques for data collection and analysis in justice sector planning in 2011 and 2012, the Ministry of Justice identifies that one of solutions of renovation in justice sector planning for 2012 is to comprehensively and timely organize trainings and provide guidelines on renovation of data collection in justice sector planning for the entire Sector. It is to effectively serve the implementation of the Government’s working program in the period of 2011 – 2016.

With supports from Project ’Strengthening Access to Justice and Protection of Rights in Vietnam’, the Office of Ministry of Justice will held nationwide training courses on methods and techniques for data collection and analysis in justice sector planning.

The training aims to: (1) Introduce new methods and techniques in justice sector planning to departments of Justice Sector in order to consistently implement this scientific process; and (2) Improve professional skills of staff and officials of Ministry’s departments, Departments of Justice and Department of Civil Judgment Enforcement in provinces, centrally run cities in order to be enable to use methods and techniques for data collection and analysis in justice sector planning. It is to ensure the scientific, effective and practical manner of planning as well as to meet requirements from assigned tasks./.
