Over the years, the association has taken an active role in the Government’s national programme on administrative reforms, providing advice on various drafted amendments within the Criminal Procedure Code.
Up to now, 7,630 lawyers nationwide have become members of the Bar Association. In 2012, the lawyers participated in 27,926 cases and provided legal services for 34,890 cases and free legal supports for other 8,111 cases.
However, the President said that the bar association should focus on improving the lawyers’ quality. He also noted that the number of lawyers taking part in procedures for criminal cases has been limited to about 9-10 percent.
The association also recommended to determine and stipulate the specific characteristics of the Bar Association, continue to amending and supplementing legal stipulations to create the stable development of the association.
