In the framework of cooperation on the rule of law dialogue between MOJ and the Justice Ministry of Federal Republic of Germany, Ministry of Justice in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Institute (KAS) hosted a workshop on "Improving provisions of the Criminal Code 1992 contribute to protect and promote the development of market economy in Vietnam ". Mr. Le Hong Son - Deputy Minister of Justice and Ms. Rabea Brauer - Head of KAS’s Representative Office to Hanoi co-chaired the Seminar.
Addressing in a Seminar, Deputy Minister Le Hong Son emphasise that although the new Criminal Code is amended and supplemented in 2009 but with a narrow range is not modified to meet a full and comprehensive performance requirements practice, many difficulties still remain. Therefore, the Ministry continued to refine the existing law is essential to create new Criminal Code of the new period, the effective protection of human rights, democratic freedoms of citizens and contribute important to the continued perfection of social institutions, ensuring economic stability - social, and to promote integration.
The Seminar was organized to create a forum for professionals, scientists, officials and practitioners, staff working on policymakers to exchange ideas, views and experiences on developments crime situation in the market economy in Vietnam. This Seminar also provide content requirements and improve the Criminal Code to cater for the development of Vietnam, contributing to the prevention and effective fight against acts of danger to society arising process operating market economy, which formed the scientific foundation and practical for one of the major orientations.
