Before ending the visits to examine the work reviewing the implementation of the 1992 Constitution in the central provinces, Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and the working delegation of the Government’s Steering Committee on December 08 had a woking session with Nghe An authorities.
At the meeting, Nghe An authorities proposed some recommendations and amendments to the 1992 Constitution, including the proposal to clearly define the functions, duties and powers of the local authorities. They suggested that the future Constitution needed to clarify the differences between the rural and urban authorities so as to build appropriately organizational structures.
Addressing at the meeting, Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong emphasized the importance of amending the 1992 Constitution. Currently, this work has been simultaneously implementing in all localities. The Minister also noted and answered some of the provincial suggestions and expected that Nghe An province, home of President Ho Chi Minh who wrote the first Constitution, would have quality opinions to the process of amending the 1992 Constitution./.-ITD
