1. To prepare for the 1st session of the steering committee of the project titled “renovating and improving the effect of the judicial assess activities” which will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong, on the morning of October 28, the Secretariat of the Project held a meeting at the headquarter of Ministry of Justice to discuss the draft documents and preparations for the 1st meeting session of the Steering Committee. Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Duc Chinh chaired the meeting.
2. On October 28, Ministry of Justice held a seminar in Nha Trang offering suggestions to draft lawyer development strategy to 2020. Attending the seminar were nearly 40 representatives from Departments of Justice and Bar Associations in the central of Vietnam. The similar seminars will be held in 3 regions nationwide to get opinions from state management bodies and lawyers before submitting the strategy to the Government.
3. On October 29, Ministry of Justice held the closing ceremony of the competition designing logos for Justice Sector. Attending the ceremony were Standing Deputy Minister Hoang The Lien, chairman of Vietnam Fine Arts Association Tran Khanh Chuong and representatives from Ministry of Justice’s departments and Vietnam Fine Arts Association. By 31 May 2010, the organizing Committee had received 144 works from 44 authors nationwide. At the ceremony, Ministry of Justice’s leaders awarded consolation prizes for 5 authors.
4. On October 30, the committee compiling the draft law on legal dissemination and education convened to discuss the difficulties in the process of building this draft law.
5. On October 30-31, Ministry of Justice coordinated with Brainwork- Vietnam to hold the training course on organizing meetings skills. Earlier on October 23-24, another training course on communicative skills was also organized. These training courses equipped Ministry of Justice’s staff with useful lessons and skills in planning and organizing work as well as in communication./.-ITD
