Vietnam officially applied for accession to the Hague Conference of International Justice

On September 28, in The Hague, administrative capital of the Netherlands, Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong, on behalf of Vietnamese Government and under authorization by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, has signed and submitted official Letter of Vietnam for accession to the Hague Conference on international Justice. On the same day, the Dutch government sent a letter to Secretary General of the Hague Conference on International Justice to introduce and propose the Hague Conference to take into consideration Vietnam's proposal.
Potential development of law and judicial cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands

From September 26 to 27, Minister Ha Hung Cuong and delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice has courtesy meetings with the Minister of Security and Justice of Netherlands Ivo Willem Opestelten and officials from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation; Commissioner General of Dutch Bar Association and visit the Law firm Kneppelhout & Korthals based in the city of Rotterdamand. The Minister also witnessed the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between Kneppelhout & Korthals and Law Firm Dao & Associates of Vietnam.
Co-operation in Respect of Inter country Adoption between Vietnam and Ireland

On September 23, at the Central Adoption Authority of Ireland’ headquarter, Vietnamese Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Frances Fitzgerald witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding on the administrative procedures applied in handling adoption cases between Vietnam and Ireland within the framework of the Hague Convention on protection of children and co-operation in the field of international adoption. This is the first document that the central agency for international adoption of Vietnam has signed with Central Authority for International Child Adoption of the nation receiving the child, which is also a member of the Hague Convention on the protection of children and co-international cooperation in the field of adoption, since the Hague Convention came into force in Vietnam on February 01, 2012.

On the occasion of 10 years anniversary of Young Leaders Programme (YLP) - one of the legal education scholarship programs of the Japan Government for the Vietnamese young leaders and other developing countries in the world presented by the Faculty of Law, Kyushu University, Japan. Kyushu University delegation led by Professor Toshiyuki Kono, Director of YLP program with the top 09 law professors has the courtesy meeting with Justice Deputy Minister Le Thanh Long at the MOJ headquarter on September 17.
