Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long sat down with Ambassadors of England, Italia and Germany

On June 7th, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long had a meeting with Ambassadors of United Kingdom, Republic of Italia and Federal Republic of Germany.
At the meeting, Minister Le Thanh Long talked about the objectives and challenges of the Government and the Ministry of Justice during the new term. He specially emphasized on one of the top priority missions of the Government, which is perfecting the institution, consider it a managing tool of the Government.
Having exchanged with the Ambassador of United Kingdom Giles Lever, Mr. Minister stated that recently, both parties have tried to maintain the cooperation. The United Kingdom assisted Vietnam in building the Information access Law and provided some scholarships for Vietnam. Mr. Minister also hoped that Mr. Ambassador will continue to build more projects and long term cooperation to help Vietnam, especially in education.
With the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italia, Mrs. Cecilia Piccioni, Mr. Minister hoped that the Cooperative Agreement between two Ministries of Justice would soon be signed, the cooperative contents include vocational training and the implementation of the Civil Code. He also hoped the Italia Minister of Justice will visit Vietnam.
After exchanged with the Ambassador of Federal Republic of German Carl G.C. Berger, Mr. Minister was happy and thankful for the effective and practical cooperation between two countries. He hoped that these results will continue to be maintained and promoted.
Three Ambassadors respecfully congratulated Mr. Minister with his new position and thanked him for sharing his thoughts. Ambassador Lever was very honored to be welcomed by Mr. Minister and said that the Ministry of Justice would play a very important role in the future since Vietnam Government’s plan is to build a State ruled by law. Because of that, Mr. Lever confirmed that there would be more cooperative opportunities and expressed his desire to discuss with the Ministry of Justice about the priorities to cooperate in the upcoming year.
About the visit of the Italia Minister of Justice, Ambassador Piccioni promised to give his best effort in the signing of the Cooperative Aggreement between two Ministries. The Ambassador specially applauded Vietnamese’s achiements in improving the business environment. She also said that she is willing to work with Vietnam in deploying some new laws and discuss about human rights and death penalty.
Ambassador Berger also higly appreciated the legal and judicial cooperative results between two Ministries of Justice. According to the Ambassador, Germany is ready to exchange experience and cooperate with Vietnam in building a State ruled by law and fighting against corruption.
