Deputy Minister Nguyen Thuy Hien received UN Women Representative in Viet Nam

On July 30, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thuy Hien hosted a reception to Ms Shoko Ishikawa, the new UN Women Representative in Viet Nam.

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister highly appreciated the UN Women’s support to Vietnam over the past years through the effective and essential cooperative programs. She expressed her hope that Ms Shoko Ishikawa would have positive contribution to maintain and promote the cooperation between UN Women with countries in the South East Asia including Vietnam, which helps to fulfill the goals of sustainable development in the coming time.

Thanked for the Deputy Minister’s warm welcome, Ms Shoko Ishikawa affirmed that the cooperation between Ministry of Justice and UN Women has gained good results. She added that the Ministry of Justice  played an important role in the deployment of UN Women’s programs and activities.

Two sides also discussed matters of mutual concerns such as the integration of gender issues in the proces of formulating legal normative documents, the tasks of gender equality and the progress of women in the justice sector…
