Signing a letter of intent between Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and the German Federal Ministry of Justice on legal and judicial cooperation
On October 11, on behalf of two countries’ Ministries of Justice, Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong and Ambassador of Germany to Vietnam Claus Wunderlich signed the letter of Intent between the Ministry of Justice of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Ministry of Justice of the Federal Republic of Germany to continue with the cooperation program in the legal and judicial fields.
The letter of intent showed that two Justice Ministries hoped to further coordinate for the implementation of the Joint Statement between two Governments on February 29, 2008 on legal and judicial cooperation within each country’s legal framework, based on mutual interests and respect. Two sides agreed to adopt a separate agreement on the cooperation program over subsequent 3-5 years with specific stipulations  on groups of activity.

Cooperation in the legal and judicial fields is among the contents discussed in the official talks between Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel. This is also one of five key areas of cooperation in Hanoi Joint Statement.
