Mr Anatoly V. Torkunov, Rector of MGIMO, was glad to meet Minister Ha Hung Cuong and said that MGIMO is one of the world’s leading universities. Today, over six thousand students study at MGIMO; nearly a thousand of them are international. New departments and specializations are launched every year; the range of academic disciplines is constantly expanding. He expressed his hope that the Minister’s visit will bridge further cooperation between Vietnam Ministry of Justice and MGIMO, contributing to recover and strengthen the fine traditional relation between Vietnam and Russian Federal.
Addressing at the meeting, Minister Ha Hung Cuong affirmed that Vietnam’s great socio-economic development achievements have been largely contributed by legal and judicial staff, who have been trained in Russia.
At present, the globalization has created both opportunities and challenges for two countries, lots of which relate to legal matters. That context also creates lots of cooperation opportunities for MGIMO and Ministry of Justice. Minister Ha Hung Cuong hoped that two sides would share information on the international legal matters; exchange experiences on legal training and research; cooperate to organize seminars and conferences on legal matters….
The executive board of MGIMO highly appreciated Minister’s proposal and expected that the cooperative proposal would soon be implemented and taken effect./-ITD
