At the reception, the Ambassador was glad to see the recently fruitful cooperation between Swedish Government and Vietnamese Ministry of Justice. Sweden-Vietnam cooperation in the justice sector started in the early 1990’s and by that time Sweden was one of the first donors to support the development of rule of law and equal access to justice. The close cooperation and mutual trust between two sides were also shown in many fields such as: human resource training, legal aid, judicial support… On this occasion, Mr Staffan Herrström expressed the hope to find out more information about the process of legal reform, the promulgation of legal normative documents in Vietnam, the Law on Child Adoption and the Law on human trafficking…
For his part, Minister Ha Hung Cuong shared the difficulties and challenges of Ministry of Justice in the process of building and perfecting the legal system in Vietnam. He also congratulated the Ambassor on being appointed as the new Swedish Ambassador in Vietnam and wished him to successfully fulfill his assignment. He hoped the Ambassador would continue to contribute to further development of the legal and judicial cooperation./. -ITD
