New decree on unemployment allowance passed

20/10/2010
The unemployed will receive better benefit policies in accordance with a new draft decree written by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The decree stipulates that workers without jobs will continue to receive their unemployment allowance if they are sick, pregnant or have suffered from an accident. Participants will have 30 days, rather than the current 15 days, to provide testimonials from local authorities, doctors or police.

Individuals that are pregnant or suffering from an illness will have more than 14 days off and will be exempt from unemployment insurance.

People who are in custody will be able to receive an unemployment allowance under the new regulation. -- VNS
