To implement the Decision No 2465/ QD-BTP dated 29 September 2010 of Minister of Justice on opening the professional skill training courses for Ministry’s staff in 2010; on October 16, Ministry of Justice coordinated with Brainwork Vietnam Inc. to organize the training course on planning and organizing to implement the work effectively. The course aimed at equipping the Ministry’s staff with skills and methods of scheduling work professionally and scientifically.

The training seminar on the legal knowledge and professional skills of legal dissemination and education

To implement the objectives in the first stage of the Project titled “Consolidating, strengthening and enhancing the quality of human resources in legal dissemination and education to meet the requirements of the national renovation and development”, in two days (September 29-30), in Long An province, Ministry of Justice held the training seminar on the legal knowledge and professional skills of legal dissemination and education for legal officials from agencies of People’s Committees in Southern provinces and cities.
Ministry of Justice issued the criteria table ranking the local Departments of Justice in 2010

To serve the task of emulation and commendation in 2010, the local Departments of Justice have to evaluate and rank themselves based on the ranking criteria table, which was signed by Minister of Justice and promulgated together with the Decision No 2448/ QD-BTP on 22 September 2010. This is a new point in the work of emulation and commendation of the Justice Sector in 2010.

The mid-term meeting of the Programme Coordination Groups between Vietnamese Government and the United Nation was held in Hanoi on the afternoon of September 20. Mr Hoang The Lien- Standing Deputy Minister of Justice and Ms Setsuko Yamazaki -UNDP Country Director in Vietnam co-chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were also representatives from the National Assembly, Vietnamese Government, UN’s organisations and other sponsors in Vietnam.

On the evening of September 16, Mr Jean Francois Girault, French Ambassador to Vietnam, paid a visit to Ministry of Justice. The Ambassador and Minister Ha Hung Cuong then discussed the matters relating to the bilateral cooperation.

The Department of Justice of Nam Dinh Province, on September 14, held the training course on the legal dissemination and education. Attending the training course were leaders of the provincial Department of Justice and Truc Ninh district’s People’s Committee as well as 120 propagandists on legislation from communes and towns of Truc Ninh district.
The 7th Partnership Forum held in Hanoi

The seventh Partnership Forum, which was a part of the project “Strengthening access to Justice and protection of Rights in Vietnam” between Vietnamese Government and UNDP, was held on September 13th. The forum, co-organised by Viet Nam's Ministry of Justice and the United Nations Development Programme, hosted discussions and presentations on the priorities for the legal and judicial systems in the next decade and issues around legal empowerment of the poor and access to justice.

To implement the task of legal dissemination and education in 2010, on September 7, the Department of Dissemination and Education, Ministry of Justice held the conference on traning legal knowledge to reporters on legislation. At the conference, the reporters was briefly introduced about the Trade Arbitration Law in 2010 and ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA).

Minister of Justice has just issued the Decision to establish Vi Thanh law junior school . It is a state service unit directly under the Minister of Justice, having head office at Vi Thanh commune, Hau Giang province.

On August 30-31, Ministry of Justice, along with JICA, held the conference on supplementing and adjusting the Civil Code 2005. Attending the conference were Professor Aikyo Morishima from Japan and other JICA’s experts in Vietnam.
Justice Sector's third emulation congress

On August 28, Justice Sector's third emulation congress is held in Ha Noi. Present at the Congress are Mr Uong Chu Luu, Vice Chairman of National Assembly; Mr Ha Hung Cuong, Minister of Justice; leaders from Ministry of Justice; representatives of various Ministries, central boards, branches and more than 400 delegates representing outstanding individuals and collectives.
