Discussion to share experience in legal development between the Ministries of Justice of Viet Nam and Lao

On 19th April, H.E. Le Thanh Long, Minister of Justice of Viet Nam, held a courtesy meeting with H.E. Phayvy Sybualypha, Deputy Minister of Justice of Laos to discuss and share legislative experience and practice of law implementation in Viet Nam in general and of the Law on Civil Judgment Execution in particular, supporting revision of Laos’ law on civil judgment execution and other relating matters.

H.E. Minister Le Thanh Long congratulated H.E. Phayvy Sybualypha on his newly appointed position and emphasized the significance of selecting Viet Nam as the destination of his first official abroad visit on his new position. H.E. Minister Long emphasized that 2017 is an important milestone to celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the 45th anniversary of Viet – Lao friendship relations as well as 35th anniversary of justice cooperation relations. He also affirmed that the two Parties should further strengthen effective implementation of the 2016-2017 work plan and signed project, memorandum of understanding in order to promote the cooperation relations in a more effective and profound manner.
H.E. Minister Phayvy Sybualypha expressed his sincere thanks for the kind welcome of the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam and shared brief overview of the progress of law development and implementation of Laos. Based on many similarities between the two political systems as well as the existing multifaceted cooperation and supports between the two Ministries, H.E. Minister Phayvy Sybualypha hoped that his visit would enjoy the sharing of several useful experience related to law development in general and development of law on civil judgment execution in particular.
