NA discuss anti-money laundering bill

VGP – Governor of State Bank of Việt Nam  Nguyễn Văn Bình on Friday introduced the draft law on money laundering prevention and control to the ongoing 2nd session of the 13th National Assembly.

NA Economic Committee said it is necessary to promulgate the law as it will work with other laws in fighting corruption effectively.

Money laundering has already been prescribed in the Criminal Law but provisions regarding the prevention of money laundering and administrative punishments have just been promulgated in under-law documents only.

The current legal framework is not enough or fails to meet international standards.

The bill has 5 charters and 53 articles.
