On May 30, Vice Minister Mai Luong Khoi received H.E. Ann Mawe, Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam.
Welcoming the Ambassador to the Ministry of Justice, Vice Minister Khoi thanked H.E. Ann Mawe, the Government and people of Sweden for their support to Viet Nam in the past years, especially in legal and judicial fields. He highlighted the previous projects between the two Governments, mainly focusing on legal training, law enforcement and legal aid. As Sweden no longer provides ODA for Viet Nam since 2015, Vice Minister Khoi expressed the hope to continue promoting legal and judicial cooperation with the Swedish Ministry of Justice and the other legal and judicial authorities through studying Swedish experiences to facilitate judicial reform in Viet Nam.
Vice Minister Khoi also informed the Swedish ambassador about a working delegation planned to visit Sweden in June. He shared a number of contents of interest to the delegation, including strengthening legal and judicial cooperation between Viet Nam and its Swedish partners, especially the Ministry of Justice, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Court and the Swedish Enforcement Agency; studying Swedish experiences on civil and administrative judgment enforcement, anti-corruption and code of conducts of civil judgment enforcement officers, etc.
H.E. Ann Mawe hoped that the two sides would work closely to actively strengthen and promote diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Sweden in general and legal and judicial cooperation in particular.
